Just announced is the new Jack White album coming in June. Called ‘Lazaretto’ it features this new slice ‘High Ball Stepper’ that features distinctive Jack White guitar explosions over country blues backdrop.
This message posted via the Jack White Facebook includes all the details:
Jack White presents his new album, LAZARETTO, to be released June 9th/10th on Third Man Records. Experience a first taste of new music from the album and watch the video for new instrumental track “High Ball Stepper” now while we await the debut of first official single and title track “Lazaretto” later this month: http://smarturl.it/HighBallStepper
In celebration of the new album and their 20th Vault Package, Third Man & Jack have also unveiled a special Lazaretto Vault package featuring: a limited edition Lazaretto LP pressed on split-color blue and white vinyl coupled with exclusive album art, a lustrous blue vinyl 7-inch with two early demos of songs that appear on Lazaretto, a 40-page hard bound Lazaretto book and a letter-pressed linen postcard.
This will be the ONLY limited version of Lazaretto that is released. Visithttp://thirdmanstore.com/vault/vault-subscriptions/tmr-vault-platinum-subscription for more information and to sign up before subscriptions close on April 30th.
Interestingly enough as stated and heard above the track is instrumental, so perhaps the new album is even more jam orientated than the first.
Track listing will follow shortly as will more details.
The credits on High Ball Stepper are:
Jack White: Electric Guitar
Carla Azar: Drums
Catherine Popper: Bass
Lillie Mae Rische: Fiddle
Brooke Waggoner: Piano
Maggie Björklund: Pedal Steel
Ruby Amanfu: Background Vocals, Tambourine
This is the line-up of his touring female backing band ‘The Peacocks’, so perhaps it was written and recorded whilst on tour?
