Radiohead release Burn the Witch – Exclusive Thom Yorke Interview

On May Day, fans were confused when Radiohead’s website started disappearing before their very eyes. Then the band’s twitter page started erasing, and the more they tried to erase themselves the more they appeared in articles. On the 3rd of May at 4pm the band’s website flashed back to life revealing Burn The Witch, a string and electronic influenced experimentation, Radiohead are back… although still silent.

It’s of no surprises that Radiohead have taken such a drastic and interesting method to develop hype for their new album, and when we got the phone call to confirm

TEJ: Welcome Thom to our house, thanks for dropping by.

Thom:

TEJ: Haha, well we do try. First things first, what is the title of the new record?

Thom:

TEJ: That’s a great title, where did it stem from?

Thom:

TEJ: Interesting that Jonny was the one to suggest the final wording.

Thom:

*laughter*

TEJ: All jokes aside, why remove Radiohead from existence?

Thom:

TEJ: Well that makes a lot of sense, is that connected to the newly released Burn The Witch?

Thom:

TEJ: How much involvement did Stanley have in the video project and design?

Thom:

TEJ: Really?

Thom:

TEJ: As a child were you a fan of Trumpton then?

Thom:

TEJ: Really, babysitting Gwyneth’s children?

Thom:

TEJ: Does that get awkward with Chris?

Thom:

TEJ: Phil is right, he is a little cry baby.

Thom:

TEJ: What other songs from the past are going to appear on the new release?

Thom:

TEJ: To hear modern Radiohead tackle Tell Me Bitch, that’s gonna be interesting.

Thom:

TEJ: Will ‘Burn The Witch’ get a single release?

Thom:

TEJ: That soon, the artwork on iTunes suggests it will be an XL release, does that mean Radiohead are now officially signed to XL or are they still independent?

Thom:

TEJ: A vice?

Thom:

TEJ: Testicles?

Thom:

TEJ: Sounds painful, but if that’s what was needed to get the material on Spotify.

Thom:

TEJ: At least that’s passed now. Thanks for your time Thom.

Thom: Bye

TEJ: Wait what!?

Thanks to Bryce Edge, who is still definitely not Thom’s manager, for arranging this interview.
