Incoming Music: The Roots, tUnE-yArDs, and Little Dragon

Some recently released/showcased music from the last day.

Starting of with The Roots, the hip hop groove with choral harmonies, drum breaks and dynamics this is a great track where the bass isn’t overloading and instead lets the piano do the talking, well less talking more soothing whisper. From the upcoming And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, it combines the elements and leaves you grabbing for the repeat button.

Another track from the upcoming Tune-Yards record that we reported about earlier in the year. More produced and controlled than previous releases, it still feels very much like them due to simple looping of oddly timed percussion and toms, with travelling bass lines and souring but not intimidating vocals. If you have never listened to them this is probably the best track to start with.

Little Dragon also debuted a new song from their upcoming 4th record on the Zane Lowe show. Now uploaded to their soundcloud for all to enjoy (from the radio rip oddly enough) the song is less wild than previous offering Klapp Klapp but nonetheless brilliant.
