Beach Boys Tussle, Hackett’s GenesisRevisited Preview and Greenday Roundup

Mike Love ‘inadvertently’ fired 3 of The Beach Boys. The band recently reformed and have been playing scheduled tour dates. However it seems the plan for Love (who owns the rights to the band) was to have a reunion tour, and a not quite Beach Boys tour thus not to dilute what was a well sold tour. He stated the case of The Eagles how one reunion tour was sought after, a year later tickets were sold for as little as $5. The other members: Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, and David Marks, were not so enthralled to hear the news.

Steve Hackett’s Genesis Revisited project (we recently interviewed him again), is having a preview of the classic Genesis track ‘Chamber of 32 Doors’ on Planet Rock. Click the link below for full details. We have listened to elements of the project and we were quite pleased with what we heard.

A quick roundup on a variety of Greenday news. After a massive rampage (that has been posted everywhere) about the time slot the band were given at the iHeart festival, lead singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong checked himself into rehab. The band are also in the process of releasing their triple album: Uno, Dos, Tres.

This post was written rather quickly, I’ll attribute sources later on.
